HM sculpture trail walk & draw with John Warburton - FREE Adults

  • Globe Arts, Holme Mills West Slaithwaite Road Huddersfield, HD7 6LS United Kingdom (map)

We are delighted to be a part of Nature Season, a new grant programme supporting creative projects inspired by the natural environment, taking place across Kirklees.

The Holme Mills Sculpture trail is a series of free adult workshops, working with local artists, communities and partners to create an accessible sculpture trail linking Slaithwaite, Marsden and Holme Mills.

Using reclaimed materials and heritage-inspired artwork, the trail will celebrate local history, nature and the seasons while improving access, encouraging active travel, and engaging residents through creative workshops and volunteering opportunities.

Join local artist John Warburton for a creative, outdoor journey along the canal towpath between Marsden and Slaithwaite. This free, hands-on workshop is the perfect opportunity to slow down, explore our local landscape, and sketch the beautiful natural environment under expert guidance. For adult only, all levels welcome.

We will begin at Globe Arts G1 to gather our drawing materials and map out the trail, then stroll along the scenic Huddersfield Narrow Canal towpath, capturing the landscape, lock gates and wildlife in your sketchbook. Once we are finished, we will head back to the studio for refreshments, a friendly group discussion, and a chance to share our work.

We provide all core sketching and drawing materials, so you don’t need to bring anything with you. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Thursday 15th October or Monday 19th October, 12-2pm

This workshop is free, however a booking is required. Use the buttons below to book your spot!
