HM sculpture trail willow weaving with Frances Noon - FREE FAMILIES

  • Globe Arts, Holme Mills West Slaithwaite Road Huddersfield, HD7 6LS United Kingdom (map)

We are delighted to be a part of Nature Season, a new grant programme supporting creative projects inspired by the natural environment, taking place across Kirklees.

The Holme Mills Sculpture trail is a series of free workshops, working with local artists, communities and partners to create an accessible sculpture trail linking Slaithwaite, Marsden and Holme Mills.

Using reclaimed materials and heritage-inspired artwork, the trail will celebrate local history, nature and the seasons while improving access, encouraging active travel, and engaging residents through creative workshops and volunteering opportunities.

Enjoy some fun family time in the creative atmosphere of our riverside studio!

Join amazing local sculptor Frances Noon for a wonderful, hands-on workshop, learning the traditional, tactile raft of willow weaving. Together, you will create gorgeous creatures inspired by the wildlife and habitats found along our beautiful canal and towpath between Marsden and Slaithwaite.

Once completed, your family's creations will be proudly displayed in our Sculpture Garden at Globe Arts Studio for everyone in the community to see and enjoy!

We supply all the willow, tools, and structural materials needed for the session. We may step outside to look at the riverside habitat for inspiration, so please wear mess-friendly clothes, bring coats and wear sturdy shoes.
