WHAT: Make a mug that’s as full of character as you are!
In this hands-on 3-hour session, learners will use slab-building techniques to construct their own clay mug using pre-prepared templates. Once assembled, each mug is decorated using coloured slip and simple slip trailing tools to create layered, textured design. This session focuses on playfulness, personality, and learning fundamental ceramics skills in a relaxed, creative setting.
WHO: Complete beginners are welcome! Suitable for ages 12+. Ideal for creative taster sessions, team-building activities, art clubs, and community workshops.
WHERE: Globe 2
WHEN: Monday 16th June, 12-3pm (can’t make this date? We’re also running this workshop on Wednesday 18th June, 5.30-8.30pm)
WHY: This session introduces key hand building skills (slab building, scoring and slipping, attaching handles) in a way that encourages self-expression. Slip trailing adds an extra decorative element, helping learners build confidence with ceramics tools and design choices.
Participants walk away with new knowledge, messy hands, and something truly personal — a mug with personality!
