Please read these carefully, as as this page contains terms of use, policies, and procedures which are important for you to work to in the interests of the other members around you, our studio holders, and the Globees (our staff members).
Terms & Conditions
-Your membership commences on the day you make payment and lasts for a minimum period of 3 months (we suggest you try make your payments near or on the 1st of the month to help keep track of your subscription.)
-There is a 3 month minimum term on all new subscriptions and re-subscriptions. Notice periods move to 30 days thereafter.
-Memberships cannot be shared, or transferred, one membership per person.
-It is expected that members have a good working knowledge of the process they wish to use. If you do not have experience of ceramics or glass and would like to learn, you'll need to sign up to one of our courses first.
- No tuition is included in the membership - you must have experience and knowledge within the printmaking technique that you wish to practice during your membership. To explore other areas of printmaking that you have not received tuition for, you must attend a course. Please check with a member of the team if you are unsure.
-All Personal Practice hours will be staffed by a Globee, but they do not provide tutoring during these time slots. If you require tutor support, we recommend attending one of our courses to grow your confidence and knowledge.
-You must complete an induction before you book any PP time slots, the induction lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. These will run on weekdays for the first week of every month, and 1 Saturday per month.
-Be aware of our Health and Safety Policy and ensure the studio is left tidy and equipment is left clean where sited, or returned to storage. Ensure you leave enough time at the end of your session to do so thoroughly. Have respect for equipment and inform a member of the team of any malfunctions or breakages.
-If you have health issues, or if you are pregnant, please make this known to member of the team and we will advise on recommended precautions.
-By attending Globe 1, you are consenting that you have read and understood our membership Terms and Conditions.
-By attending the studio you agree to abide by all Terms and Conditions. Failure to adhere may result in us suspending or terminating your membership, with no refund given.
Damage & liabilities statement
-Our Globees will always treat your work with the utmost care. However, there is a chance that ceramic or glass piece(s) may be damaged during handling or firing. Globe 1 assumes no responsibility or liability for any damage that may occur due to equipment malfunctions, handling, failures brought about by inappropriate technical understanding and practical problem-solving, or for poor or unexpected glaze results.
Whatever the outcome, no refunds will be given after a piece has entered the firing system.
- Globe Arts reserves the right to assess work going into kilns prior to packing and to refuse any work based on construction or glaze concerns, or which we deem might cause serious damage to the equipment, or pose a health and safety threat.
Inductions
-Only members who have completed their Induction may use the studio.
-After your Induction, you can book PP sessions through the booking system, which can be accessed via the website, click the button on the membership info page.
Personal Practice
-You can book up to 10 hours of access time (PP) per month with a valid membership.
-PP time slots must be booked via our booking system, you will need a login to keep track of your bookings, reminders are sent out to your email 24-48 hours before the session is due to start.
-A register will be taken at the start of each PP session, to help us keep track of the hors you have attended, this also acts as our Fire Register.
-We will attempt to keep the PP timeslots as regular as we possibly can through out term times and the holidays, but days and times are subject to change as we assess what is working well for you, the members, and our Globees, our staff.
