Join David on Wednesday afternoons for throwing on the wheel!
AUTUMN TERM - Wednesday 17th September until 22nd October - fully booked!
WINTER TERM - Wednesday 5th November until 17th December
WHAT: Learn the exciting art of throwing on the potter's wheel. This course is perfect for beginners and intermediates, where you will learn in a small intimate group to ensure you get the proper guidance and tuition needed.
You will develop the skills to throw your own pots in just a few weeks; learning how to centre the clay, open out the shape, pull up the walls and control the form. Your tutor will show you how to shape your piece, trim and neaten, then decorate with glazes before your creations are fired in the kiln.
You should come away with 3 masterpieces to take home, but please be aware that absolute beginners’ pieces are more likely to break during the bisque fire, so there is a chance that they might not survive!
WHO: David Preston will be your tutor for this course. Dave will share his years of experience with you, meaning that you will come away with lots of knowledge!
WHERE: Globe 2, Holme Mills, West Slaithwaite, HD7 6LS - head through the big green gate just to the left of Zapato (by the small carpark) and follow our signage until you find the big orange ‘G’ sign
WHEN: Wednesdays, 1 - 3pm
HOW MUCH: £160 for 6 weeks (6 x 2 hour sessions) - includes tuition, materials and refreshments. Please note, shorter/longer terms are priced accordingly.
