This Spring, we welcome Deborah Gardner to The Long Wall Gallery.

The Weight of Your Heart runs from 4 April until 2 May 2026.

Deborah Gardner is a narrative, abstract artist based at Starlorn Gallery in Byram Arcade, Huddersfield. Garden has been making art for over 40 years, combining colours, shapes, symbols, collage and words in an almost conceptional way, a type of visual iconography.

I feel my paintings are beyond words, yet they contain memories and emotions where I am trying to express myself. I use my art to articulate what I see and feel: a means to visualize my inner self.

The work for the exhibition “The Weight of Your Heart”, has been created specifically for The Long Gallery @ Globe Arts. The work is my response to current events around the world, strongly influenced by images seen in the news and social media. I struggle with how unkind humans are to each other and I wanted to use my art to reflect this thinking.

Join us to celebrate the opening of The Weight of Your Heart on Saturday 4 April, from 2pm onwards. We’d love to welcome you for chats, drinks and nibbles.
