We raised £254.25 for Curlew Action!
It all started with a meeting at the end of January, when we were asked to take part in fundraising for Curlew Action.
An evening of music and entertainment had already been organised by Red Deer Club, including a talk and performance by David Gray - he’s a Curlew Ambassador, in the Civic, Slaithwaite.
We decided that we would bring the community together in a different creative way - and we were overwhelmed with the repsonses.
We are over the moon with the results from our Curlew Exhibition, where we invited members of the public, our clients, local Artists and Studio Holders, to make a piece of art dedicated to Curlews.
Over the month long Exhibition, we sold over half of the entries, with 70% going back to the artist/ maker, 15% to our Kids Art Fund, and the remaining 15% going to Curlew Action!
Thank you to everyone who took part, visited the exhibition and made a purchase.
Huge thanks to Richard Lucker for photographing the pieces, and Terry MacCarthy for helping Zoe curate it all in Globe 2. It was our first exhibition in that space since we moved into the space 2 years ago!
The next exhibition in Globe 2, will be when we participate in Holmfirth ArtWeek as a Fringe Venue, more info here.
