Our fantastic tutors have new themes planned for each term… these sessions are planned to encourage junior artists to explore materials and learn techniques that they might not learn in school.
We have 2 sets, Mini Juniors 5 to 7 years +Juniors 8 to 10 years, these run in the same space with the same project, but the tutors will give each age group a different level of difficulty.
WHERE: Globe 1 (Unit 11 at Holme Mills, HD7 6LS) - You will see a big silver gate in the bottom left of the overflow carpark – head through these and follow the path to our double French doors
WHEN: Saturdays, 9.30-11am
WHO: The class is taught by Kate, Paige & Penny, experienced teachers, with enhanced DBS and first aid training.
WHAT: This Autumn we will be exploring the magical world of colour! We will explore how colours work together — from contrasting and complementary combinations to mixing their own shades. We'll discover how colours connect to feelings and emotions, making art not just fun, but expressive and meaningful too!
Inspired by the bold work of Piet Mondrian, children will create their own masterpieces using colour, shape, and line. They'll enjoy interactive games, painting with organic shapes, and experimenting with colour integration techniques.
This multi-sensory experience also includes crafting beautiful glue-based sun catchers with natural pigments, and learning basic weaving and threading while creating spooky spiderwebs and dream catchers — perfect for autumn fun! As we celebrate creativity and culture, we’ll also make vibrant Day of the Dead masks full of colour and life.
